"When our son Freddie was first diagnosed with a rare condition called Polymicrogyria at six weeks old, we were suddenly thrown into an isolated world of unknowns.

We were told, due to Freddie’s condition, he would be on his own developmental path, and would need a steady input of therapies to help and support him which we had slowly started to receive. However, it was our care co-ordinator Emma who first told us about Playskill who help support children with physical delays and disabilities.

At 15 months old Freddie started at Playskill and has now been there for more than a year. We honestly don’t know what we would have done without it! Week in, week out, the amazing therapists support Freddie, encouraging him to develop and progress by setting targets and goals to help him, and us, realise his potential. The advice, knowledge and kindness of the therapists has been incredible – they truly care about the children and every small gain feels like a family achievement. The group set up for parents is also great as it allows for a coffee break to talk to other parents in similar situations, to share experiences and knowledge to support each other.

The amount Playskill gives back to families is incredible. There is professional training for parents, days out, trips to the farm and even mums’ and dads’ nights out to give us some much-needed time out.

We feel so lucky to be a part of the Playskill family. They are a lifeline to support us all as we navigate the unknown and help us fight for Freddie and his needs. Thank you."
