Privacy and data protection
Playskill is committed to protecting the privacy of those who register with and others who visit our website.
By submitting your details anywhere on our website, for example by sending a message via the contact form, you understand and agree to your details being entered onto the Playskill database. Your personal data will be held and used in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and will not be shared with any third parties for commercial use. It will only be used by Playskill for the purpose of informing you about news, information, events, campaigns and fundraising. Normally we will contact you by email; however, we may also contact you in writing.
All emails sent through Playskill systems will be monitored and checked to ensure our systems operate effectively and securely. All email messages sent through Playskill systems, to other members of this site may be recorded automatically for security and data integrity purposes. You should be aware that if you use standard email for communication with Playskill, we cannot guarantee that it remains confidential whilst in transit.
We use Mailchimp to send some emails (including Newsletters, information on how to stay involved, training, social events, fundraising and marketing) to users who subscribe to receive them. You can review Mailchimp’s privacy policy for information on how they manage user data.\
In addition to this we do log your IP address which is automatically recognised by our Web Server. We will only collect information that is relevant to providing the service.
Given the global nature of the World Wide Web and with the exception of your real name and email address (which remain accessible only to you and authorised contact staff) any posting within this site by you is, of course, accessible to internet users around the world.
This privacy policy only covers our own websites; links within this site to external websites are not covered by this policy. Your details will always remain safe with us on our secure database and we promise never to pass them on to another organisation for their marketing purposes.
We will not share your personal details with anyone outside of Playskill without your permission.
There are a few exceptional situations where we may have to breach confidentiality and pass on your details without your consent.
Situations where we might need to break confidentiality:
- A child is at risk of harm.
- A vulnerable adult is at risk of harm.
- You are at serious risk of immediate harm.
- A terrorist threat has been made.
- We have been ordered to share information with the courts.
- A person poses a serious risk to others.
If a decision is made to break confidentiality, we will make reasonable effort to keep you informed of what we intend to do.

You have right to complain to the Information Commissioner if you think Playskill has failed to comply with data protection.
