Specialist Playgroup for Children with Physical Needs
At Playskill we are very lucky to have a team of highly talented and skilled volunteers who allow us to make our groups as friendly and as well structured as they are.
Our team includes volunteer group support workers, parent support workers, admin volunteers, therapist volunteers (including speech and language therapists, paediatric occupational therapists and paediatric physiotherapists), specialist teachers, sibling support workers, translators and our wonderful trustees.
What are we looking for in our volunteers? People who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of our families, who are well organised and enthusiastic, have a ‘can do’ attitude and most of all, who want to be part of our Playskill family. We do ask that you can make a regular commitment to us in your volunteering role.
We welcome trained professionals e.g. therapists, teachers, family support workers or people looking to return to their profession after a career break who require some experience working with children/families with physical difficulties.
Please note all volunteers will be subject to an informal interview, relevant DBS checks and references.
We look forward to welcoming you to our Playskill family.
PLAYSKILL is an award winning Charity operating in Watford and Hemel Hempstead. Our skilled team work with children who have a wide range of disabilities in parent/carer and child groups. We achieve outstanding results consistently beating the improvement targets which are agreed for each child.
Financially sound and with good governance we are now poised for a period of expansion.
We are looking for experienced, skilled and capable people to join our Trustee team. We are looking for candidates who will bring new skills in all areas but particularly Finance and in Fundraising and Marketing. Candidates who will enjoy and add value to our current team of Trustees.
If the challenge of assisting children with difficulty or disability to take a full place in Society interests you, and you feel you have something to add to our team, then please email our Chair of Trustees, Stuart Soloway at [email protected] and copy in our Volunteer Co-ordinator [email protected] and let us know a little about yourself.
Please note all volunteers will be subject to an informal interview, relevant DBS checks and references.

We offer our parents specialist training courses during the term to support their children’s needs. We are looking for a volunteer who could come in from 9.15am-11.30am and set up the training room, prepare the parents breakfast (usually fresh fruit), make drinks for our parents on arrival and help tidy up after the training. We usually run 1-2 parents breakfast a term. Dates to be confirmed.
